Ibanez

I went guitar shopping last week. I happened to see a couple that I liked. I went back to Sioux Falls Music today and picked up my new Ibanez. I have been playing since I was 14. Never too seriously. I am going to get serious at this point. I have always loved picking out some tunes. With the gear that I got today, I too can become a serious musician. Maybe need a few lessons as I have been self taught to this point. But hey I can already play a bunch of Metallica songs.

Vacation

Today is the only day that I work this week. It has been hectic. I have been trying to get as much done today as I possibly can. Hopefully nothing falls apart in the next three days that I am gone.

State Darts

Next week there is a possibility for me to get the holy grail of the dart world, at least in South Dakota. Starting Wednesday My team mates and I are going to try and win our events at the state dart tournament. Last year, we did not finish the way we started. We drove to Rapid City on Wednesday last year, we didn't have to play until 4 PM for our first doubles match. We eneded up wasting time when we should have gotten to the tournament atleast an hour early to get in some practice. We walked in about 15 minutes prior to shooting and signed in and pretty much shot cold. That was the start of the week, I was slightly depressed. But I still had 2 more events. Thursday we started our singles play. My doubles partner played early in the morning and he was out early. I started at 11 AM and was smart enough to shoot a few warmup games before I had my first match. I started very stong and won my first three matches. The last two were very close and came down to me missing my outs, although I had slowed down my pace alot. I ended up 5th place in singles. I was thinking that was a good omen. Thursday night the rest of my team arrived in Rapid and we were ready to start the team event Friday morning. We started slow our first match, but after that we tore every other team up. We had 7 games over the next team in our pod. First in the pod gives you a good seed. Saturday we started our day by neating the first team, but it went down hill from there. It seemed like we just couldn't get into the flow of things and we lost the next two. The first being close, the second we were blown out. I am hoping that this year we will be able to capture the holy grail. At least for me. My whole goal in this game is to bring home hardware. We couldn't manage to repeat for the city championship, so we will have to bring home the hardware from the state championship. Hopefully.

New Ride

I have been looking for a Harley Road King for years, I am no longer looking. I am the proud owner of a 2002 cruiser. It is not a Harley. For years, I have thought that the only way was the HD. I was swayed to stay on rice on Monday though. A local dealer had a Yamaha Road Star Warrior for sale. I saw it and fell in love. Most Hondas, Suzukis and Yamahas are imitations of the Harley models and look cheap. The Warrior pretty much has it's own style. 1700 Air cooled CC's producing 105 horse power with the stage four kit installed. It is a mean machine. Plus it was about $5000 less then the King I was looking at. Monday was in the 50's so I really had the bug. I didn't end up getting everything finalized until yesterday though. The high was 34. At 5 PM when I went to pick up the bike, it was 31. The guys at Power Brokers offered to load her into their trailer and take it where I needed it. There was no way I was not going to ride that baby out of there. The ride was great, my ears were a little cold, but for some reason I didn't even feel cold on the ride. I just about stayed out a while longer, but I had to go shoot darts last night. I am now going to be bouncing off the walls for the next month or so in anticipation of getting to really crack into that raw power and see what my beautiful girl has to offer. I can only imagine pointing her to the open road and cracking the throttle wide open. I am very excited. I think I might even have to post a picture on the website so that everyone can see my new found joy.

Project Gotham Racing

Playing a good racing game can be dangerous to your health. My friend and I played some Project Gotham racing for about 5 hours the other night. When we got in my truck to take him home, it seemed like I was still behind the XBox controller. I did a little wheel spinning, and some sliding. Fresh frost in the wee morning hours. It was fun, he told me that I have to wait a few hours before driving when I am done playing the game!

Superbowl

Superbowl XXXIX has come and gone, all in all it was a good game. The Patriots have another title to their name. I am glad. I hate the Eagles with a passion, even more then before, this year after they beat the Vikings in both meetings. The Patriots are just the all around best team in the NFL again this year. The ads during the game which are usually supposed to be captivating, left a lot to be desired this year.
