Cycle Accessories

There are a few things that I needed for my bike. The mirros that were on there were too short so I could pretty much only see my shoulders. I decided to get some bags for it for when I go to Sturgis and other trips that we are planning this summer and I want to replace the rider and passenger pegs because they are pretty plain and dont really fit with the other accessiories on the bike. I have already received the mirrors and the brackets and saddlebags are on their way. I decided on Ghost Brackets. These are really slick, if you want the clean look back with no bags, all that you have left is two studs on each side. But when you need to carry clothes or what not you click on the brackets and bags and away you go. Sweet. I need to find the pegs I want to put on it, but nothing has really caught my eye. I will keep looking.

Old "Friend"

I finally decided to talk to an old "friend" today. She left me a voice mail and sounded pretty depressed. The conversation was pretty terse and I didn't stay on long. She wants to go out sometime this week, I know that she probably wants something from me, she was talking about not being happy with her boyfriend and wanting to leave. The way things have been it sounds like he is very controlling. This is why I quit talking to her. She was only available to talk when he wasn't around and she would never hang out or go and do anything with me anymore. I do really miss hanging out like we did before she got involved. I am not sure if I want to get drug into a domestic dispute with her and he boyfriend, I know at the least I would have to help her move out. It sounds like a headache.

Rain

It is raining outside, this is a good thing as we have been in drought conditions here in South Dakota for some time. This morning they said that we had less then an inch, I have not heard any new totals, but it did sound like it was coming down faster then that when I woke up this morning. I actually like the rain, although it does interfere with the riding of the motorcycle, but this weekend sounds like I should be able to get some of that done. At least it is raining during the week.

Riding

South Dakota is a messed up state, at least weather wise. The temperature got into the seventies yesterday, what does that mean? The motorcycle had to come out to play. I had an enjoyable night riding, the weather sounds like it will change a little. Rain and a little cooler is in the near forcast. This weekend sounds like it will be nice though, although I might end up in Nebraska. Who knows.

Music

I stopped at the Last Stop CD Shop yesterday, I was on a quest to find some new music. I have listened to Chevelle since their first album came out, but I have not purchased anything but their first yet. I found Wonder What's Next and a live disc. I have not located This Type of Thinking Yet. I would like to pick that up. I have also heard a couple of songs from Helmet that I really liked so I picked up a couple of their discs. A best of and their last album before they broke up. They are back together now BTW. From the reviews that I found it was listed as their worst album. I have enjoyed it so far so I look forward to finding more of their stuff. I ripped the four new discs and loaded them onto the IPod for my listening enjoyment in the truck. I have a list of other music that I would like to find, but I need to have an hour or so to really dig into looking through theis selections.

Movie Reviews

I decided that I would continue to review movies for my loyal readers after I see them. This week you get two reviews. This is because I did not have time last week due to the trip. Here goes. The first movie that we went to was Robots, we saw this on it's opening weekend. Robin Williams is not my favorite actor so it was probably good that this was an animated feature. All in all this was a very entertaining movie. It kept the pace well and had a great level of humor which was geared to all ages. Flat out gags for the kids and subtle humor for the older viewer. All in all I would recommend Robots for a movie to see. To start the second review, last weekend we went to see the Ring 2. I really enjoyed the Ring, it was a great movie. I am a person that thinks sequels can almost never live up to the first. This was the case with the Ring 2. It was a good movie, but they didn't explain some of the things that happened to be thrown into this movie. I won't go into details for those that have not seen it. All in all it was a decent flick. I would recommend to someone who likes the horror type genre. While I am at this review thing, I will also review a couple of DVD's that were viewed this weekend.

Saw - Saw was a great movie, it kept you guessing the whole time. Had good action and sadistic ideas that the killer in this movie used were unique, you just haven't seen these things in movies before. This was probably the most original and best movie I watched all week, at least as far as the horror genre.

The Grudge - This was another good movie, based on a Japanese story. The grudge happens when someone is brutaly killed. They try to payback the grudge, in this case to anyone that came to the house. There was plenty of suspense and B and myself yelling at the screen telling the stupid people not to go in that room, don't take that tape off. Another movie that I would recommend.

The Girl Next Door - I was unsure what to expect with this movie. The main draw for me was Elisha Cuthbert. She is just plain hot, so I figured that the movie might not be a complete bust, pardon the expression, with her in it. The story was actually strong and there was good humor involved, plus a little bit of a sappy love story. The kid and the porn star fall in love. Not neccessarily too far fetched. Anyway this was also an entertaining movie.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
This was probably the funniest movie I have watched in a long time. Basically Harold and Kumar are young guys, Harold has a job and lives with Kumar who goes to school. Trying to get into med school. However these guys live for the weekend and getting wasted. The guys get home on a Friday night and decided to spark one up. When they are done with the toking they decide they are hungry. While they are trying to decide where to go, a commercial for White Castle comes on, the perfect food. This thought starts a chain of hillarious events that lead to them actually getting to enjoy a massive stack of deliciious White Castle burgers. This was a great movie, Neil Patrick Harris' scene was great. You have to see it to believe it.

I need to watch Kill Bill Volume 2 and I will review later.

Portland

Well, I have successfully survived another trip to the fine cities of Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. Flew out Wednesday morning and got back home Saturday night. One of our vendors brought us out. I had already been out there in July but my boss had not. We had a very good time. Plenty of fresh seafood and plenty of other abundent fare. We also found a beer that we both really enjoyed but now I think I need to find a way to get some here. It is from a brewery in Portland. The Name is Widmer Drop Top Ale. Excellent. We also got to go Salmon and Sturgeon fishing although we were about two weeks ahead of the Salmon run. We did not catch any fish, but we still had a great time. On the way back I also got to experience first class on the flight from Portland to Oakland. I think they felt sorry for us for having such a fucked up route home. Portland to Oakland to Denver to home. That did really suck. As we were coming in on the plane I started to see the snow that everybody back here was telling me about, and when I got off the plane I saw that we had probably 12 inches of the white shit. Well at least it is melting off now, although we are supposed to get more this week. We do need the moisture, but at this time of year, I think rain would be the shit.

Can't wait for the Weekend

TGIF is my moniker for today. My whole morning was ruined today when I put my dollar into the pop machine, hit the Coke button, and it said sold out. Mo**** F****r!!! I then tried the Mountain Dew, this is not an acceptable replacement for Coke, but it does have caffeine, it is substandard and should only be consumed in dire circumstances. Also sold out. My choices at this point were diet, which is completely out of the question, I would rather drink rat piss mixed with some vile poison then drink diet, water, I am not paying a dollar for a bottle of water, and Dr Pepper. I was forced to take the Dr Pepper. Now there is something fundamentally wrong with this soda. First it does contain fruit juice, prune juice. This does not seem right to me. It also has a flavor that just is not right. I cannot explain how much I am missing my Coca Cola this morning. Anyway, the weekend should be fairly fun, although they have altered the forecast to no longer include the 60 degree day tomorrow. I do have another date tomorrow night and I am told that we will be able to bowl, then dinner and probably another movie, I just hope it is better then the last one we saw. Here's to a weekend better then Dr Pepper.

Tax Time

April is fast approaching and so is the dreaded tax time. As long as I can remember I have used telefile. It is great, you fill out a form, then call a number. Telefile figures out your taxes and tells you what you have to pay or will get back, they will even take or deposit the money directly to or from your account. This year, I will not be able to use my favorite tax preperation method. If you change addresses, you cannot use telefile, I do not really understand this? I think I might try an online tax program this year, like Turbo Tax or the like. We will see. I also have a friend that works here that is an accountant and I can probably have him take a look at it. We will see.

St Patrick's Day

St Patrick's day is next week. My friend is pulling together a bunch of people to go out and party for the event. I have not done the St Patricks day partying for many years. I really want to go and participate. However next week I fly out for Portland on Wednesday. I will not be in town. This sounds like it will be the party of the year. I am going to miss it. I know I get to go out and probably will have fun. But these type of things do not happen very often. If I would have remembered the holiday, i would have had our vendor push the trip back a week. Oh well. I guess I will have to make my own fun in another state.

The Jacket

The Jacket: A review by Bignorm.
On Saturday I had the good fortune to be invited out. The plan was dinner, then bowling. Well there's a saying about the best laid plans. Well, after a nice meal at Bennigans, we traveled to Empire bowl for open bowling. I am not a bowler anymore, but figured if that is what she wanted to do, I would bite the bullet. My friends keep trying to get me to bowl with them, but have yet to be successful. Well, we get to the lanes, and they tell us that they have no open lanes at the time. They say that they will page us when a lane opens. We head to the lounge. Have a couple of drinks, play some darts, my game of choice. I had to tank some games at the end, it made her feel good to beat me. Plus I got a hug or two. We never heard a page so we decided to check. My date came back and said that they were getting ready for cosmic bowling and we could get in. We finished our drinks and went out and got in line. When we got to the front, the little shit behind the counter asked if we had a reservation. Um, my date had just talked to him and it sounded like we were in. Well, not the case. He said, I paged you like three times for your bowling spot. Um, we never heard a page. Well, we left Empire in search of other bowling opportunity. Checked sport bowl, and Eastway and both were filled. So we decided on going to the movies. So back to my original thought. The Jacket. We walked into Century Theaters about 10 PM. Looked at the board and there were two movies that started after 10. The Jacket and something else. We decided on the Jacket. That was a mistake. It was the wierdest most dis jointed movie I have seen. Probably ever, I think it was the first movie I ever watched to the end, and did not know what happened. If you are thinking about seeing a movie. I would recommend that it is not the Jacket.

Blogging

I think I need to find a way to get more people to my blog. I am not sure how one discovers a blog, I don't advertise. I suppose word of mouth. I think right now I only have one person that might read my stuff. I never get any comments. Maybe I am boring. Maybe I need to add some pictures. I usually get ahold of some decent pictures. Although my new camera phone has really slowed down my stealth picture taking. Or as another blog I read calls it " Ninjacam " I will find a way to get more people to check out my blog. It is a goal of mine.
