Warrior Weekend

I pounded some serious pavement this weekend due to the mostly nice weather. I ended up with a slight sunburn but for the most part everything was enjoyable. We went riding on Friday because Roman was just about done with his leave and was going to be heading back to the base soon. That kid never fails to amaze me. I have know him since he was 11 or 12 and have tried to pass some type of common sense along to him over the years. I have decided that almost no matter what I try the kid is never going to be anything but stupid. He flew in to town on May 23rd and started to prove that the military was not even helping his dumb ass out. He managed to loose his cell phone, in his room, missed a family picture that his mom had arranged. He also got two overdrafts while he was here. I am not sure what he does with his money. He made the decision to ride his motorcycle out to Washington due to the fact that he has no cash and his friend Tim who was going to drive out there in his pickup and haul his bike for him. That did not happen. So he rode out about 11AM Sunday morning to make the 1800 mile trip, he needs to be back on base by Tuesday at 11:59. He should be able to make it. I got to hear about the exploits yesterday morning from Scott, his step dad. He told me how he watched the waterhead try for 45 minutes to get his 75 pound duffle bag on tot he back of his vike, and then put it on like a back pack. He said that he finially had enough and showed him how to properly secure the bag to the bike. I wish I would have been there cause that sounds like it could have been a good show. It was described to me that it looked very similiar to a monkey fucking a coconut. With all of the things that he lost during the trip here, he did however manage to keep his Batman mask handy. He was riding around town with that thing strapped to his face. I would not let him ride with us if he had that on. I have not talked to Scott to see how the trip is going, although he has to be in at least Idaho, if he managed to get out of bed this morning and resume the ride. Hopefully he was travelling west and does not end up in Washington D.C.
