Fucking Blogger

Well, this is a different post then what I had first planned. For some reason when I tried to publish my last post, Blogger told me that my blog was not found and it appears to have deleted the post never to be seen again. I will probably re type my last post sometime later when I am not so irked.

House Painting

I think I am going to paint the house this weekend. It really needs to be done and this weekend appears to be fairly free, I have plans set for the next I am not sure how many weekends and we will be getting into September before I will have another free. I really have some other things that I would prefer to do but I will be responsible and take on this project I think. I should go out and get some more caulk and do all the windows and doors tonight so it will be ready for paint on Saturday. My friend is also going to let me use his pressure washer to clean it before I start. Although this does not sound like a fun project, it should not take me very long once I get started.

DVR

I had the cable company come out yesterday and istall a DVR for my cable. I have started to use it, but it does not seem like it has very much space. I had about an hour od HD and maybe 4 hours of regular tv recorded and the hard drive was 17% full. Doesn't seem like I will be able to keep as much on it as I figured. Oh well, we will see.

My Life is Full of Suprises

Life decided to sneak up behind me and kick me in the ass this weekend as it does quite frequently. As I told you in a post last week, I purchased a new A/C unit last Friday. I made plans with a friend to come over on Saturday morning and give me ahand installing it. I figured if we started early we would be done before the extreme heat of the afternoon. As the forcast called for 102 degrees I started to work on my project at 7AM. I told my friend to call me when he got up and I should be ready for him to come over and help lift the behemoth. I tore out the old unit and measured the case and cut the proper size rough opening. The previous owner had cut through the wall instead of installing in a window. By the time I was done, it was about 9 and I had not heard from my friend yet. I tried to call him, no answer. I went on with some other projects thinking he must be sleeping in, he had just returned from Missouri the night before. Well, projects moved on and so did the time, 10 arrived then 11 and I tried to call again, cell and home, he should be up by now. No answer. By 12:30 I was worried that something was up, so I hopped on the bike and rode over to his house to make sure that he was alive. He was. Well, I finally got him over to the house after some putzing around at 3:30 it only took about 30 minutes to get it all installed. I plugged it in and fired it up and waited to be chilled to the bone. I was not, the fucking thing was bowing hot air. I shut it off and waited for 15 minutes, still the same. I turned it to fan like it said in the manual incase the compressor needed to reset itself. No cold air. We decided to leave it on cool and run and get something to eat. The house was 105 degrees at a quarter to 5. We went and ate and when I returned home it was even hotter in the house, the A/C was producing heat. I turned it off and called customer service. They told that I had a couple options, to take it back to the store and exchange it, to get my money back, or to have them setup a service call and have someone out to fix it. The final option would have taken three to five days. No way. I pulled that fucker out and took it back to the store. I made a trip around town to see if I could find another unit about the same size. The only one was at Sears and was $80 more then the one I was returning. I ended up getting two smaller units and got the bigger of the two installed Saturday night. I was so happy when I fired it up and cold air came shooting out of it. It took awhile for it to bring the temperature down from 105 degrees but it did and the house has been comfortable ever since.

Der Kieser

If you remember the most awesome show of the 90's Married with Children then you will get the title to this post. Much like Al I purchased my Kieser today. Unlike his it was not used in one of Hitlers bunkers to keep cool. The son of a bitch is pretty huge though and should keep my house bearable. It is supposed to be over a hundred degrees tomorrow so I figured that I would have to break down and get it. I never realized that in July the selection would be that picked over. Oh well. You live and you learn. Oh and I can't wait until I can set the AC on Der freezin yer heiney off!

Tequila

If you ever wondered about Tequila, read the link. I think I want a margarita.

Insurance

I get the pleasure of meeting with my new insurance agent today. The agent that I have had for years died a few months ago and American Family decided to assign his clients to different agents. Fortunately I am now serviced by an office on the other side of town. I am not quite sure what they were thinking. I know that there are others that are closer to where I live. I guess it really is not that big of a deal as I pay for everything online and don't have to drop off payments. The only time I go to the office is if I get a new vehicle and need to pick up cards before the corporate office sends them out in the mail. Maybe he will looks at my policy and find a way to lower my monthly rates. I can dream can't I.

Sturgis

Three weeks from today we will be on the road to Sturgis for the 65th anniversary rally. It will be my first journey out to the big show. I mixed reveiws every year about what it is like, but I have decided that I need to have my own opinion on the subject. Some people say it is too commercial and some say it is great. I am looking forward to the rides we have planned in the hills and the ride out and back should be fun too. I will have to take my camera with and take a bunch of pictures. I might have to go out and find another memory card incase I take that many pictures. I imagine I ought to be able to capture tons of hotties in skimpy clothes. You can all look forward to that. It sounds like we have three bikes riding out and the women folk are taking the truck to haul any gear we can't fit on the cycles. The vacation time off is in great need at this point and I probably should have taken some days off sooner just for my sanity. I think I will have to plan to take a few off here again soon, maybe even if I just take it off to work on the house. I included a link to the official website for the rally so if you are unfamiliar you can check it out.

Life is a weird thing

In this soap opera that we call life, sometimes you have to stop and think about the things that unfold around you. For some people life is getting better and others it just seems to get worse. I listen to stories about lifes little challenges and wonder how some of these people can cope. I then think that my problems are insignificant to what some people have going on. I heard a story about someones kid that has cancer and is probably not going to make it. The child is two years old. I have lost friends and family in my life, but I am not sure how you would handle losing your child at that age. I hope I never have to find out if I ever have children of my own.

Small Town Living

I made a trip up to a Lake Preston last weekend to visit a friend. It so happened to be the high schools all school reunion. They had a barn dance, street dance, and parades and the like. We took in the street dance and had an all in all good time. It was kind of funny cause you would see people looking at you trying to figure out if they went to school with you. We were going to start walking up to people and talking to them like we did go to school there but that never materialzed. It was quite interesting to see the various age groups that attended the dance. There were some that held the recipe for dirt down to the ones that must have just graduated. There were also a few that were swaying like a weeping willow from the amount of alchohol that they had in the bodies. We were even treated to a girl that got up on a table and danced for a good 45 minutes. They had a goofy DJ there and we decided to go up and request a song, the had been playing country all night and we decided to liven things up with some rock. I walked up to the DJ and asked how his rock selection looked, He said that he had anything I wanted to hear. I asked for Pantera, um, don't have that, I then asked for Chevelle, he said who. I said well I guess you don't have "anything" I wanted to hear he chuckled. We picked some Metallica and walked away. The hours past and we had not heard our selection. We walked back up there and he said that he would put it on. It was the second to the last song for the night before they closed it down. And then he talked over most of it. Oh well. It was still an all in all good time. I had a lot of fun.

New Blogger

I have just discovered that we have another friend that has joined the blogging world. Albeit another blogger that will probably just neglect his space and never give us any updates. Anyway you can read about his wanting to purchase an R/C helicopter. When he does get it, I just want to be there for the maiden flight of the Titanic. I will dub it that cause I can only assume that it will have only 1 filght or should I say crash.

Peeling

Today I feel much like a lizard, my skin is peeling fromthe excess sun that I received over the weekend. I am thinking that I should save all of the little pieces and make skin confetti. I am not sure who the receipient of the festive flesh would be, but I am sure someone would be glad to have it dropped over them in a parade like setting. I was hoping that I would be able to peel the skin off my forehead in one large sheet and have a mask, but alas my dreams were dashed this morning when the dry skin was all cracked. Fortunetly it only appears that my face and ears are going to peel, it looks like my arms have tanned and will avoid the flaking.

Hot Harley Nights

Well, I took in the festivities for Hot Harley Nights this weekend. It was a very enjoyable. Did a little riding on Friday night and then ran into an old friend and had some coctails with her for the rist of the night. Saturday my goddaughter had her 6th birthday party so the early afternoon was spent with a bunch of screaming kids and a pool. After that trauma was over since it was her birthday we planned on taking her on the HHN ride from J&L to downtown. We rolled out there and the amount of bike that went on the ride was impressive. There was a lot of thunder rolling Saturday night. We walked around downtown for some time went to get some supper. After we ate we went back down and checked out how many drunks there were stumbling around. Sunday brought the 5th annual Royal River / Mid American Motoplex bike rodeo in Flandreau. Willie and I rode up there. That was interesting to say the least. All kinds of bikes were competing in competitions such as the bike wash and weinie bite. The latter they hung a hotdog on a rope and the passenger had to try and bite a chunk off while they rode under it. I will plan on rolling back up there next year and it was pretty fun. I am not sure what I am going to do to finish off the rest of the night, I had to stop home and try to re hydrate a little bit cause I have been out in the sun for the last two days straight.

The Weekend is Upon Us

Well, it is Friday and the weekend is about to start. Even though it was a short week with the holiday on Monday, it still seems like it was dragging ass. I am thinking that tonight we might have to take in the cycle festivities downtown. Show the Harley boys what a real bike looks like. We had our first meeting last night for the creation of a STAR chapter in the state. The closest ones are in Omaha and Minneapolis so Yamaha was more then happy that we were interested in starting it. We had about 20 riders show up last night and we figure that there will be more. There were two other Warriors there so that was pretty cool. I think it should be pretty fun to have a group of riders that get together and ride at least once a month. If anyone is interested in joining leave me a message with your email, or stop by Mid American Motoplex and they will give you some information. We are not limited to only Yamaha. Harley and Victory have limitiations on only having their bikes and will not allow anything else in.

Birthday Idea

For anyone looking to get me a birthday present. Here is the link for you. They are auctioning off Star Wars props. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader's light sabers are both on the auction block along with other things. They are only estimating that the Skywalker saber will go from between 60 to 80 thousand and Vaders' will go from 40 - 60 thousand. That would be a perfect gift for a Star Wars fan like me.

Need to remedy the lack of postings

I realized that I have been neglecting my blogs audience as of late, with the post earlier today being the first one in July. I need to re focus on the blog and start to make my daily updates. There seems to just be alot of things going on and sitting infront of the computer does not seem to be a priority during the summer. With Hot Harley Nights this weekend, there is a possibility that I will be able to post some pictures from the festivities. As the weather forecast shows that we will be around 90 for the weekend, the hotties should be out in full force wearing some skimpy little outfits.

Fourth of July

Well, my favorite holiday was celebrated yesterday and a good time was had by all. Went down to the farm hung out, started a nice bonfire, had some good food, did some shooting and then some fireworks. The show was not as immense as last year, but it was still a fair showing. Yesterday was about the perfect day for the party too although it was a kind of a shitter that it fell on Monday and I had to come back to work today. Got some riding in over the holiday weekend as well as again the weather could not have been nicer. Friday night I went out with a friend and ended up at Coconut Joe's. All I can say is that place is the biggest shithole that I have had the displeasure of walking into. I have heard good things, but I was not impressed. The crowd was less then to be desired and the music was terrible, I am a rocker and I can't stand all of the rap and hip hop bullshit that they were blasting. I might have enjoyed it more if all the caucasianaly challanged people weren't flocking around like vultures. Any new trim that walked into the place was swooped by the brothers to try and pick up some trim. The crowd is also filled with all of the young punks that usually just spell trouble, looking for fights and the like. I was there over an hour and finally had enough, I told my friend that I was leaving, she wanted me to hang out for a few minutes more but she dissapeared trying to find another friend that was riding with her. I waited and finally walked out. I am not sure if I will try it again, maybe with the right group of people, but I have decided that I am too old for the traditional meat markets anymore. Give me a nice biker bar anyday and I am giddy as a schoolgirl.
