Dart News

Well, the Shocker played in another dart tournament over the last weekend. Well, to say that we are stuck in a rut would be an understatement. Again we took second place. I am just not sure why we can't take the whole thing like we did a couple of years ago. The worst part of it was that we beat the team that ended up winning handily the day before in pod play. That night we won our two needed matches to advance and played Sunday morning. Well, we won the first match, then faced a revitalized team, they swept us 3 - 0. Ouch, well, we were playing the last motch on the undefeated side so we had to sit and wait for two other matches to be played before we could play again. Well, we came back and defeated the first team that we beat Saturday night in bracket play again, we got them 3 - 0. Well, we played the Legion again and started on a 2 - 0 rout, but fell apart on the third game and lost three straight. Oh well, consistantcy has been plagueing us for the last two years. When it counts the team usually steps up to the next level and it just has not happened this year, this was supposed to be my era as it will be my last season with this team. I guess my only hope for a victory will be to take the league championship for the third year in a row.

Movie Review

Well, I suppose I will spark my hopefully full time return to blogging with a movie review. The old lady is a proud member of Blockbuster Online so we get movies in the mailbox quite often. Well, as her and my movie tastes differ considerably, I am subjected on occasion to some pretty crappy movies, although once in a while she gets horror movies and we enjoy those togther. Well, she had the movie "Team America : World Police" show up last week. We watched it Sunday night. Now I have mixed emotions on Trey Parker and Matt Stones work, I really love the movie BASEketball, but have never been a fan of South Park. We out the movie in and I figured that I would hate it as it is done with puppets. Well, after a few minutes I really started to find some awesome humor in the flick. The musical score has to be the best, the songs don't hold any punches. The movie is in mo way policcaly correct, so if you are a bleeding heart liberal pinko, then this is probably not for you, or if you are a fan of Michael Moore the slimy tub. If you want to find a non polically correct movie hilarious movie to watch, Team America is it, FUCK YEAH!!

Life Is Not Always Peachy

Well, I am finding some time in my hectic schedule today to put out a quick update to my blog. I know it has been a long time coming. For the last few weeks I was dealing with my uncle in the hospital with cancer, well he passed this weekend after the long battle. With all that and other things going on and work being busy, the blog has sadly taken a back seat. I regret that it had to happen. I will try to get back to normal updates, but I really don't feel like doing anything right now. Well, I guess I will go back to basically sleepwalking through the rest of my day.

Hola Readers

Hello readers, it has been a few days since my last post. I have been busier then a old legged man in a ass kicking contest. ( Disclaimer: I do not mean to offend any people with only one leg.) Well, anyway let's start with this weekends dart tournament. I traveled to SIoux Falls on Friday to play in our leagues city tournament. We started off with doubles and seemed to be doomed as we lost our first match in a double elimination bracket. Well, we got on track and won all of our matches after that to get to the championship match, we did not however have what we needed to win the thing and ended up taking second place. Our teammates did however win their division so we had a second and first place finish. We started shooting at 7 PM and finished and got out of there at 1 AM, it was a long night. The next morning we started the team pod. We ended up first in our pod looking forward to Sunday. We won this tournament two years ago then were jinxed last year and didn't make it out of the pod. We were sabatoged but that is another story. Well Sunday we won all of our matches on the winners bracket then had to wait for the loosers bracket to come and play us. We had the first match won but two of our players could not take out a 25 and a 5 and we ended up loosing the first match, well we never got back on track and our tournament was lost. Oh well, another second place for the kid. Last night we had our league and we kept the weekends dart momentum going and won 9 - 4 All in all a good night. I think tonight I will fire up the 360 as the old lady has her bowling so I will have some free time to kill and that seems like a good way to waste a few hours. I guess that is unless she has some things on the honey do list ;) I need to find some time to upload some pics to Flickr as well. Man I need a few more hours in the week to get all the shit done!

Movie Review: Batman Begins

Well, I got the movie Batman Begins for Christmas and managed to watch it last week. If you liked original Batman movies, then you might not like this one. The story was very good and there were good action sequences. Batman has some really cool gadgets and they explain how he gets them or making them rather then just poof him having a Batarang pop out of his ass. That was more of a reference to the TV series then the movies, but who asked you anyway. I really enjoyed this film so I would highly recommend it to any fan of comic heros or movie fans in general.

XBox 360 Reviews

Well as I saw Hoby from Waste of Cyberspace rate his favorite games for 360, I figured that I would be a copycat and do the same, so here goes my top five games. To start my list my favorite game to play so far has been COD 2 I have not tried the multiplayer yet, but I have heard that it does not do the game justice. I have played though the game on the default level and can see myself going through again on the two higher levels. I really enjoyed COD for the PC and have logged hours on the multiplayer online with that, I hope that they do put out a patch to fix this if it really does suck as I have been told. Project Gotham Racing 3 would probably be the next, I can tell that this game will take many hours to complete and will not loose playability. I enjoy the fact that you do not have to go through all the different clasees of cars like the Geo Metro and shit to get to the big boys, when you win enough races and have enough green, you can purchase that half million dollar McClaren or Porshe. Quake 4 will come in third, I have killed many a Strogg in the quest to complete the game, and it seems that the game has good depth. Play this with the lights off and the sound up. Leave the lights off when you switch to my number 4 choice, Condemned was the Fiances choice and I wasn't sure that I would like it, well, it has grown on me and I have logged a few hours. There are a few things that baffle me in this game, like picking up birds that are either dead or flopping like a guppy and finding metal trinkets. All in all a decent game. And the last that I am rating is Perfect Dark Zero, This game would rate higher except for a few limitations, I dislike that fact that you cannot jump, this takes me back to the olden days. The multiplayer is quite good though even with the jumping limitation and my friends and I have logged a few hours on this one. Well, that is my top five as I see it. Hopefully if you are thinking about any of these games you have some insight on how they are.

Welcome to 2006

A fine welcome to all of my readers to the year 2006. It came in uneventful this year as the fiance and I shared a quite evening at home. This marks the firdst year as long as I can remember that I did not go out to party with friends. It was different. We ended up catching some of "Dick Clarks New Years Rockin' Eve". I was unaware that the ancient Clark had a stroke last year and it was almost painful to watch him. You could really see the toll that it had taken. I guess it is hard for him to walk away for something he has been doing for like a hundred years. I am glad that he is able to continue to work, but it was semi hard to understand what he was saying, and the voice that I have listened for many years was hollow. They had some really crappy bands on this year and Ryan shit ball from American Idol was his usual idiotic gay self. If they continue to have him host I will have to never watch it again. I played quite a bit of 360 over the last week including some good online play. I really have enjoyed the new console and its abilities. But it does seem like every time I have to get something for it it costs at least $200. Oh well, it is only money. I am working on tightening the budget for the honeymoon next summer as I had a ton of stuff that I wanted to get out there last year that I had not budgeted for. I will be ready this year. Hopefully I can get a good deal on a light kit again this year. Last year I had a complete kit lined up for $100, but my budget for shirts and accessories could not handle the extra stress. ;) I am looking forward to this winter weather to go away as I need to ride the bike. It is a great stress reliever and with some changes at work I could really use a few hours of pavement pounding. Well, tonight I get to go out and shoot some darts. We are again playing the top of the hill game. We are 1 game behind the first place team so we need to shoot out of our asses tonight. The first place team is playing the powder puff team of the league so they will probably win 13 games. Oh well, I guess there are a lot of weeks left for the second half so we will have time to get our wins.
